The FAA has released new Practical Test Standards (PTS) for the Certified Flight Instructor (CFI). The new standards have been updated to reflect current rules, operating procedures, and technology.

Among the changes, new tasks have been added including awareness of Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), runway incursion avoidance procedures, carburetor fire hazards, course of action if selected touchdown point is going to be missed, accelerated stalls, and emergency descents.
