Spektrum VR6010 Voltage Regulator 10A, 6V

The VR6010 is designed for high-current draw applications, such as giant-scale airplanes with multiple high-current draw servos.  Spektrum’s model VR6010 6 volt 10 amp regulator allows the use of 2-cell LiPo or 5 to 8-cell NiCd and NiMh receiver packs to be used to power your onboard radio system. A single VR6010 regulator provides 10 amps continuous current (16 amp peaks) making it ideal for most high-current draw applications.  For heavy duty applications two VR6010’s can be used to provide 20 amps continuous and up to 32 amps peak power. The VR6010 is ideal for use with Spektrum’s AR9100 series PowerSafe receiver and comes pre-wired with EC3 connectors.

Spektrum VR5203 Dual Output Regulator

• Two inputs provides the ability to run applications at lower voltages
• Two outputs distributes the load over two connectors to minimize drops in high-current draw applications
• Voltage input: 5.5 to 10 Volts

The VR5203 provides regulated voltage protection for up to two servo functions with two input ports and two output ports. This unique component eliminates the danger of higher voltage power systems to standard voltage servos by being placed in between the receiver and the servo needing regulation. This allows the rest of the system to work at a desired voltage.

Applications

Spektrum’s Dual Output Step Down Regulator is primarily designed for use with gyros in helicopters. Most brands of gyros/ tail rotor servos have voltage limits of 6 volts or less. The Dual Output Regulator installs between the receiver and the gyro in the rudder and gain channels and regulates the voltage to the gyro and tail rotor servo to a constant 5.2 volts. This allows the rest of the system to operate using higher voltage, typically 5-cell NiMH 6 volts or even 2-cell LiPo 7.4 volts, providing increased servo performance and response.

Spektrum has also discovered that there are many other devices that are typically used in models which have voltage limits that the Dual Output Regulator is ideal for. Some brands of retract servos (including the JR791) have a limited voltage range and installing the Dual Output Regulator inline between the servo and the receiver allows the retract servo to function properly.

It is not intended to be installed between the battery and the receiver to power the entire system.
