Keith Fick's 1/5th Scale Custom Strega Reno Racer

Compare Keith's Strega with the Original P-51 Mustang Model from Top Flite

It was ' 98 when as a long time Reno Air Race/Strega fan I decided to model the aircraft someday. The project started Jan 08 as a 1/5 scale Top Flite P-51 ARC. After extensive mods, the plane began to look like the photos Bill Destefani graciously allowed me to take of his full scale Strega. Knowing Dave Sullivan's expert knowledge in aircraft building, setup, and piloting skills, the choice was simple who was going to complete my Strega. In May 08 Strega arrived at Dave's shop for electronics install and control setup. The quality of Dave's work is obvious to anyone who sees it, and the best part is that it flies as good as it looks. Just ask Dave, he's flown it twice. I would recommend Planebender Building Service as well as the professionals at Chief Aircraft for all your building, parts, and supplies needs.

TT TOC YAK 54 30% Specs

I would like to thank Dave Sullivan, and Chief Aircraft for the great services they provide. Chief has a knowledgeable, friendly staff and ordering parts from them has been a pleasure.  Dave Sullivan has recently built a QQ Python, and TT Yak 54 for me and my son.  I ordered all my parts through Chief Aircraft and had them shipped directly to Dave. In a short time Dave presented me with two awesome 100% RTF planes.  I'm extremely satisfied with Dave's work.  His electronics, fuel plumbing, and motor install is very clean, and well thought out.  I highly recommend Dave for any of your building needs.

Thanks, Adam Coronado

Terry Rabon's Somenzini 102" YAK 54 Generation IV

hello, my name is Terry Rabon. I have been involved in model aviation for 41 of my 46 years. I have taken two breaks from modeling, the first one due to girls and hot rods and the second one due to the busy life we all must lead, or feel we must lead. After a ten year absence I drove out to the local flying field one weekend and was blown away by some kid flying a 40% Yak. The biggest model I had ever built was an Extra 230 with a Zenoah G-62, and it sure as heck would not hover! I went home and decided that ten years was way too long. I had to get back in the hobby and all I wanted to fly was 100cc or larger 3-D aircraft. O.K. Now the real problem, what airplane do I build, what radio equipment are these guys putting in these monsters and what engine should I run? After talking to 15 different guys and getting 15 different opinions I drove out to a new flying field and ran into Dave Sullivan turning a Q-Q Yak inside out! I introduced myself and told him of my past modeling experience and what I wanted to do, he said you need this airplane, this engine, and this radio equipment, and gave all legitimate reasons why, and with life still very busy for me and being unfamiliar with things like digi-switches and match boxes, I jumped at the chance to have him put together my first 100cc 3-D airplane. After finally getting some direction I felt was correct, I went home and ordered a Gen IV Q-Q Yak. Dave took care of the D-A 100, JR radio and Duralite Batteries for me. Once all the parts and pieces were delivered to Daves shop, I think it was a Monday, I picked up the airplane on the following Saturday and was flying it on Sunday. You want to talk about a happy man! I am very satisfied with the help and information I received from Dave to get back in the air and although I now make time for the hobby I love, anyone with little time to build, or someone getting back in the hobby with the same questions I had should look up Dave sullivan aka Plane Bender Products.

Brian Hulse's Somenzini Pitts Python 100cc

I just received my new python from Dave Sullivan and all I can say is WOW!!! Dave did a fantastic job on this plane..I'm proud to own such a nice model..Although there is a number of builders out there that can do nice work I chose Dave for a few reasons. First he is very knowledgeable about this hobby, second he has close ties with several companies in this industry and third, and most important, he made me feel comfortable dealing and choosing the right parts for the type of flying I do. If you are seriously considering have a new model built I would advise you to put Dave on your short list you wont be sorry.
