Smart-Fly Equalizer 3D

Part No.DescriptionCARTPrice
SMT EQ3D Equalizer 3D, Smart-Fly $54.95

The Equalizer 3D can control the centering and throw of three servos. This accomplishes several things. First, it increases battery life, especially with digital servos, when multiple servos are used to control a single surface such as the rudder. It does this since the servos precisely track each other over the full positive and negative travel range. The servos are no longer wasting energy fighting each other. The other benefit of this is increased power being transferred to the flight surface instead of to the other servo(s). With the servos no longer fighting each other the full torque of the servos can be transferred to the flight surface. The Equalizer 3D can also reverse the direction of any servo. The Equalizer 3D uses a three-point calibration on each output to precisely control the centering positive throw and negative throw of the servo attached to that output. The user sets the centering, positive endpoint and negative endpoint during setup and the Equalizer 3D will adjust the natural servo travel to the calibrated travel over the entire range of the servo. The Equalizer 3D was designed to make it easy for one person to perform the setup. The Equalizer 3D has options the user can setup before the servo adjustments that tailor the Equalizer 3D to the task at hand making setup easy and painless.

Features
  • Small size 1.65" x .865" x .375"
  • Adjusts 3 servos, drives 4 servos
  • Auxiliary power inputs

BatShare

Part No.PHOTODescriptionCARTPrice
SMT BATSHARE BatShare, with Dual 22 gauge outputs, Smart-Fly $29.95
SMT BATSHAREHD BatShare Heavy Duty, with 18 gauge outputs, Smart-Fly $34.95

The Smart-Fly BatShare and BatShare enables you to use two battery packs and two switches to provide Dual-Redundant security to your airborne system, just like in full-size aircraft. With the Smart-Fly BatShare, you can tolerate a single failure (open-circuit, short-circuit, low voltage) in either battery pack, or switch, or battery wiring, without losing radio control.

The Smart-Fly BatShare continually monitors both battery packs and switches for the one with the higher voltage, and routes that to your Rx and servos. You may combine different size packs. In practice, with two good packs, the BatShare draws power equally from both packs, adding their individual capacities. I.e., if Battery #1 is a 6V/1350mAH pack, and Battery #2 is a 6V/2700mAH pack, you will have 4050mAH power supply onboard, with at least 1350mAH to fly on, in case of a failure.

Features:

  • High current capability, 12A per input, 24A total
  • Very Low Voltage Drop, 0.47V @ 6A, 0.55V @ 12A
  • Visual power indicator (LED)
  • 22 gauge wiring on inputs with universal connectors
  • BatShare: Dual 22 Gauge outputs for minimal voltage drop
  • BatShare HD: 18 gauge outputs with Deans Ultra Plug for minimal voltage drop

SuperSwitch

Part No.PHOTODescriptionCARTPrice
SMT SUP SWITCH SuperSwitch with Universal Charge Jack, DSC switch with 18ga input, dual 22ga outputs, universal charge jack, Smart-Fly $29.95
SMT S SWITCH HD SuperSwitchHD, provides the same features ar the SuperSwitch except for 18ga wire and a Deans UltraPlug output to mate with the PowerExpander, Smart-Fly $34.95
SMT SSW-HD-2PAK SuperSwitchHD, 2 pack, Smart-Fly $64.95

The SuperSwitch is a DSC style switch designed for the demands of large scale aircraft. The standard switches with their 22 gauge wires are just not sufficient for 1/3 scale aircraft up. Even with dual receivers in the 40% and large planes the current draw from the battery through the switch can be substantial during maneuvers. We have measured a digital servo, unloaded, drawing 0.6 Amp when kept in continuous motion. Image what the same servo is drawing under load and then multiply that by the six to eleven servos you have in the plane. While this may be momentary this is when you need the least voltage the servo sees and you reduce the torque the servo can supply.

The unique features of this switch is the 18 gauge wire on the battery side with high-quality Deans connectors and the dual leads on the receiver side. This wire and connector combination allows you to mount your battery anywhere you want and you don't have to worry about voltage drops in long wire runs. This minimizes the voltage drop cause by wire resistance. At the high currents digital servos require from the battery this can actually be substantial. We have measured a half volt drop over eighteen inches of 22 gauge wire and one connector at 5.0 amps. On the receiver side, again on or both leads may be used but both leads is recommended so that your system see the full battery voltage.

The leads provided will fit any radio system brand. The receiver leads are JR style which will fit both Futaba and JR receivers.

Features:

  • Heavy, 18 gauge wire to battery terminals
  • Dual output connectors to receiver for low voltage drop
  • Universal connectors
  • Compatible with all radio systems
  • Compatible with Smart-Fly Regulators
