The Staufenbiel™ Red Bull Edge 540 1300mm is a high performance replica of the unlimited-class Edge 540 aircraft flown at air shows and in international unlimited racing by pilot members of the Flying Bulls. Its construction with Z-Foam™ material means that a beautiful appearance can be executed while a light wing loading and a remarkable level of durability are maintained. The use of composite reinforcement used throughout the airframe adds a high level of rigidity so that high-speed and aggressive maneuvers can be accomplished with greater precision. Like the full-scale Edge 540, this is a lean machine with lots of muscle under the hood. The 32-size outrunner brushless motor offers the perfect balance of speed and torque so whether you’re hanging it on a wing tip through the pylons or standing it on the rudder for a torque-roll, you’ll feel as if there’s performance to spare. Every electronic component, including the power system, is factory installed. Among those components is the industry-leading Spektrum™ AR636A receiver with built-in AS3X® technology. A benefit of its installation is that you’ll find the time needed to perfectly trim-out the Edge 540 is virtually nonexistent. That’s because the complex array of sensors and exclusive software used to develop the AS3X system in this Edge 540 has been specially tuned to make it fly like its on rails, right out of the box.
Exclusive AS3X® Technology
The advanced AS3X® (Artificial Stabilization – 3-aXis) system built into the Spektrum™ 6-channel AR636A receiver is what helps give this Edge 540 an incredibly solid look and feel in the air—especially during complex aerobatic maneuvers. It works behind the scenes to help counter the effects of wind and turbulence by combining 3-axis sensing with specially tuned flight control software. As a result, the thrilling experience you’d expect to have with an aerobatic racer like this Edge 540 is made even better because your workload to make the flight look flawless is significantly reduced.
The vibrant Flying Bulls trim scheme and appearance is officially licensed in cooperation with Red Bull for a sense of realism that inspires both the thrill of racing and the exhilaration of aerobatic flight.
Every 17-gram Spektrum servo is secured in place so that’s it can be easily serviced with just a screw driver. They feature digital precision and metal-gear durability.
For storage and transportation convenience, the wing panels attach with concealed screws inside the magnetic belly hatch and share a composite wing joiner tube.
Brushless Power System
The power system features a high-torque 32-size brushless outrunner with a 760Kv rating and 60-amp ESC that when combined with your 2400–3200mAh 4S Li-Po battery delivers thrust that feels virtually unlimited.
Durable Z-Foam™ Material
Durable Z-Foam™ material provides the ability to replicate complex airframe detail with greater accuracy while delivering a very light flying weight.
Embedded within the hollow airframe is additional carbon-fiber and composite support that makes the structure very rigid so that high-speed flight and aerobatics can be performed with greater precision.
