The Casper Labs full flow oil filter adapter is designed as a direct 'bolt on' replacement for OEM oil screen housings/ or horizontal oil filter adapters on the Lycoming engine models. It is installed with simple hand tools and requires no changes in engine operations. Users enjoy much less messy oil change procedures and it permits an engine mounted filter where space will not allow the installation of a Lycoming horizontal filter kit. No troublesome hoses, fittings, or connections are employed as in remote filter installations. Everything required is included in the kit and the conversion typically takes about an hour. Gravity draining of the filter element makes oil change clean up simpler and less time consuming. Vernatherm valves and temperature probes (if originally fitted) are reinstalled with new seals provided. The complete kit filter weighs 1 lbs 2 oz.

*Note: These kits will only work on Engines with two Independent Magnetos. This conversion is not compatible with the 320 cubic inch "76 Series" model (suffix H) or those versions of the 360 cubic inch engine with a dual magneto on a common drive (suffix E).
According to the manufacturer, the STC is approved for the engine only, however, it will not fit on the Beech Sundowner, Traveler or Musketeer with Lycoming engines; the Piper Cherokee Series; ALL Mooney Aircraft.
