The KT-76A Class 1A transponder provides superb performance at any altitude up to 35,000 ft in Mode A/Mode C. Essentially a radio transmitter and receiver, the KT76A responds to ground radar interrogations with a series of coded pulses. Providing comprehensive identification information, the KT-76A incorporates Large Scale Integration (LSI) circuitry. Along with reducing both weight and power requirements, this streamlined design enhances reliability and efficiency. An extra rugged switchboard makes it more durable. To enhance automatic altitude reporting, the KT-76A can accept inputs from encoding altimeters or blind encoders.
