Equally important is the design and manufacturing of Ray-Ban sunglass frames. They are designed to perform in a variety of conditions and provide continuous comfort and fit.

Adjustability – Most temples can be adjusted for optimum fit. Nose Pads – Smooth rounded edges for comfort, nose pads rock in all directions on gooseneck pad arms for comfort. Temples – Sample temples are flexed beyond their normal position as a test of strength and stability.

Temple Tips – Paddle tips are specifically designed to be smooth against the skin. Plastics – Cellulose Acetate and Nylon frames are tumbled in a mixture of wooden pegs and polishing compound for up to 4 days for a smooth feel and highly polished appearance. Made from distortion-free, precision ground and polished optical glass, Serengeti sunglasses give you the clearest image available. Scratch resistant and chemically tempered for strength, each and every lens is drop ball tested with a steel ball to ensure maximum impact resistance. With proper care, Serengeti lenses can last a lifetime.

Every day your eyes are bombarded by potentially damaging ultraviolet rays from the sun. Many sunglasses filter some UV light, but Serengeti lenses block 100% of UVB and no less than 98.5% of UVA rays, exceeding all government and commercial standards. Lenses also feature an anti-reflective coating on the reverse side to block glare and back reflections.

Blue light waves cause a unique set of vision problems. These shorter wavelengths can't be properly focused by your eyes, creating a phenomenon known as "blue blur". Blue light waves are responsible for "veiling glare" as they scatter off dust and moisture particles in the air.
