PS Engineering understands what it is like in the cockpit. They have had first hand experience in the loudest cockpits such as the P-51, PV-2, B-17, T-6, T-28, Pitts S2B, Stearmans, and experimental aircraft too. They know it can be a very difficult place to communicate, and how important clear communication is to safe flight.

That's why PS Engineering have invented AMP (Active Microphone Processor). Coupled with our patented IntelliVox system, this system dynamically controls the engine background noise that is picked up the microphone. AMP significantly increases the intelligibility in an otherwise impossible environment.

The PM1200 has more capability than any other aircraft intercom that they know of. With a powerful output amplifier, it packs a whopping 120mW of audio punch per headset (28 Vdc systems). This allows pilots the option to wear earplugs while wearing headsets. This combination considerably decreases the amount of noise that the individual is subjected to. The PM1200 will do a marvelous job in this area.

And for pilots who prefer the Push To Talk (PTT) type of intercom (ICS), a simple push of the copilot volume control knob changes the system from our IntelliVox control (completely automatic VOX system) to manual push to talk button control.

The PM1200 can be purchased in a version that can be mounted blindly, allowing the owners of vintage warbirds or antique aircraft to keep their aircraft panels original. Controls from the intercom can be installed in the original control boxes.

The PM501 provides basic intercom capabilities as well as features usually found in more expensive models. Individual output amplifiers supply plenty of volume for noisy environments. Single VOX control allows simple operation. Pilot Isolate allows the pilot uninterrupted radio operation, while passengers can continue to talk among themselves and listen to music. Any time someone speaks, the music is attenuated and then slowly returns back to full volume.

Note: Aircraft radio doesn't mute music. Designed and manufactured to the same high quality standards as the PM1000 and PM2000 Intercoms. Mounts vertically or horizontally.

The PM1000 II provides the pilot with the most capability for the least amount of money. Individual volume and squelch controls eliminate the frustration of clipped syllables, ensures quiet intercom operation because only the active mic picks up sound, and allows the use of dissimilar headsets. Pilot Isolate is standard and allows the pilot uninterrupted radio operation while the passengers can continue to talk with themselves and listen to entertainment. Music input with Soft Mute attenuates the music anytime someone speaks or the radio becomes active and then slowly returns to full volume when the activity ceases.

Optional CREW function allows Pilot and Co-pilot operation on one channel while the passengers can be on a second one. Two music sources can also be played at the same time, allowing unprecedented flexibility.

Optional DIGITAL RECORDER allows digital recording of all incoming radio transmissions. Gives one minute continuous loop recording of audio, no dead air time is recorded.

The PM3000 is a six channel stereo, panel mount intercom with multiple volume and VOX circuits for the pilot, copilot and passengers.

The operation of the PM3000 is very straight forward. With fewer controls, the pilot will enjoy ease of use and with PS Engineering's famous multiple VOX circuits, cockpit communications will be clear and free of clipping

A three position mode switch allows the pilot to select different configurations. The ALL mode places all headsets on a party line. In the ISO mode, the pilot is isolated from all others and is connected to the aircraft radio, allowing uninterrupted radio communications. The third mode (6-place only), CREW, allows the pilot and copilot to be isolated from the passenger positions.

The PM3000 has an automatic fail-safe interconnect to the aircraft radio. Two-color LED displays green when power is on and changes to red when someone presses their Push-To-Talk. Provision for entertainment input allows the pilot, copilot and passengers the option to listen to music during flight. Music automatically mutes during communications. When the activity ceases, Soft Mute circuit allows the music to gradually return to the original listening volume.

Both pilot and copilot have transmit capabilities. The PM3000 only allows the audio of the person who presses their PTT to be transmitted. If both pilot and copilot press their PTT's at the same time, the copilot position will override.
